BECtv, implanted by Vilau, the main novelty at the Ferroforma fair held in the Bilbao Exhibition Centre

BECtv, the corporate television channel designed by Vilau for the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, was opened in January and was the main attraction at the International Ferroforma ironmongery fair that was held from 7 to 10 March.

Created to offer interesting information to the visitors at the different fairs and events, the TV channel has been designed with a new system for editing and broadcasting multimedia content that allows their viewing on plasma screens. Information about the BEC services and installations, the events organised and matters of general interest related to the different fairs and events make up the BECtv programme schedule, created in a completely personalised way.

The plasma screens on which the channel is broadcast have been located at the main entrance, in the central corridors and at the entrances to floors and pavilions. Thoroughfares and meeting points where visitors can watch a complete schedule that includes information in different formats, such as video, images and text, cartoons and also live broadcasts.

The programme is offered in Basque, Spanish and English and has common areas that are complemented with sections that are specifically created for each event. "With this television, we have wanted to provide visitors with information they find useful during their time at the BEC. At the same time, it is a new service for exhibitors to communicate with the public that visits the fairs", as Xavier Basañez, Director of the BEC, indicates.

Vilau, pioneer in the all-round management of corporate television channels, was responsible for developing the project. "We have implanted a world-reference system for the creation and distribution of the programmes from a central server to a number of screens. With simple, fast processes, we update the information according to the BEC?s requirements and those of its exhibitors", as Javier Calera, Managing Director of Vilau, points out.

Visitors to Ferroforma, the most important fair of the year due to its international repercussion, valued the television channel positively as a source of information during their time at the BEC. In addition, many exhibitors appeared on BECtv to provide the public with useful information.
