Vilau will show its new media services at BROADCAST, the International Audiovisual Technology Trade Show

Vilau will be attending Broadcast, the International Audio-Visual Technology Trade Show. The event, which is held every two years to coincide with SIMO, takes place from November 6 to 9 at Feria de Madrid (IFEMA).

Vilau, thanks to its Vilau Cast division, will be exhibiting its new media services for television networks. The aim is to show an improvement in operability and another way of enabling new models of commercial operation. Thus both major networks and local television channels will shortly be able to offer their viewers attractive, cutting-edge services and formats.

With the participation of the Korean company Alticast, Vilau offers a comprehensive service for all the major channels and network operators, including technological implementation of the interactive digital television platform. Additionally, Vilau offers features in encoders, streaming services, management software, transcoders and various models of set-top-boxes, adapting streaming systems to the characteristics and needs to each television channel and employing the most suitable solution.

Among the new developments that Vilau will be showing at Broadcast is the video participation platform, "My Cast", an innovative system that allows viewers to take part live from their homes using a webcam or a mobile telephone with a camera. Thanks to this new platform, which is safe, flexible and simple to incorporate into a TV channel, debates, game shows and light entertainment programmes will be more dynamic and attractive now that a face can be put to the voices of those taking part live from their homes. In May 2007, Vilau deployed this format for the first time in Spain, in "Betizu", a daily children?s programme on Basque Autonomous Television, where young viewers take an active part.

Vilau is well-experienced in interactive applications. The company brings interactivity to viewers, offering them a single channel where they can find all kinds of information and services such as an electronic programme guide, information services (weather, traffic, news), surveys, games, etc, while providing great differentiating value to television stations.

Information technology is changing the way that the public sector interacts with the public in the area of electronic government (T-Government). Vilau, in conjunction with Alticast offers television networks and government authorities the best solutions for the joint development of this type of experience: campaigns, information on government, consultation of public opinion, surveys, banking operations, etc. The overall aim is to strengthen interaction between the Administration and the public, providing tailor-made integral solutions.
