Vilau makes a commitment to technological and audiovisual innovation at the Broadcast Trade Show in Madrid

Vilau makes its mark on Broadcast. All those who visited the Feria de Muestras in Madrid from 6 to 9 November were able to learn first-hand about the future of audiovisual media. Television as we know it will cease to exist and instead it will become an interactive and more participative media.

Vilau, thanks to its video participation platform MyCast, brings the audience closer to television than ever before. The viewer is now not merely a spectator, but is a leading character in their favourite programmes, giving their opinion, appearing live and even perhaps becoming a new panel member for prime time debates. To do this, all the user needs to have is a webcam fitted to their computer or a mobile phone with camera.

In May 2007, Vilau was the first in Spain to deploy this format in "Betizu", a daily children?s programme on Regional Basque Television (ETB1), where young viewers take an active part.

But television is not only an instrument for entertainment, it can also be used to check bank accounts, the weather, the state of the traffic, take surveys, play games and even to vote in the next elections, And all without moving from the comfort of your sofa. Vilau has ample experience of interactive applications. The company brings interactivity to the viewer, offering them a single channel where they can find all kinds of information and services, which in turn provides the television station with an important differentiating value.

Information technology is changing the way that the public sector interacts with the individual in the area of electronic government. Vilau, in conjunction with Alticast offers television networks and government authorities the best solutions for the joint development of this type of experience: campaigns, information on government, consultation of public opinion, surveys, banking operations, etc. The overall aim is to strengthen interaction between the Administration and the public, providing tailor-made integral solutions.
