The Costa del Sol Tourist Board awards Vilau the introduction of a Destination Management System
Vilau wins a public bid to promote the province of Malaga and the Costa del Sol through a multichannel platform
The Costa del Sol Provincial Tourist Board has chosen the Vilau for the introduction of a Destination Management System or DMS in the province of Malaga, in first place on the Spanish peninsula with regard to the number of visitors, and the Costa del Sol, which accounts for 35% of the tourism in Andalusia, with more than 17 million overnight stays a year.
Unlike other existing products on the market, Vilau?s DMS is specifically designed to cover all the phases involved in the choice of a tourist destination, as it allows any kind of tourist information to be grouped and matched as well as real time booking and hiring of services. The objective is to manage tourist destinations integrally, promoting collaboration between all the agents, whether in the public or private area, permitting the direct participation of the suppliers of tourist resources who will have a sales channel in which to promote themselves.
The Vilau system, at the avant-garde of this kind of technology, is already successfully introduced at an international scale, especially in the British market (Liverpool, Lancashire, Bath, Brighton, etc.) where it provides essential support to promoting the tourist information of a destination. In fact, every month it handles bookings to the value of one million pounds and its portals receive more than 2 million unique visitors.
This multichannel platform (mobile website, interactive kiosks, TV) incorporates a system for managing clients, with all the data of visitors who request information from the Tourist Information Offices, the call centres or the website. This helps with carrying out segmented campaigns through tools such as mailing lists or newsletters.
Vilau is working on the graphic design and technical development of the new Costa del Sol web portal, which will reflect the essence and the personality of this renowned destination. The new communication channel will make a unique user experience possible, thanks to its intuitive character, usability and the attraction of the channel itself and its contents for looking for information, planning and booking and, in short, inspiring visits to the Costa del Sol.
